Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant:
The Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant provides funding so you can refurbish vacant and derelict homes. It can also be used to renovate properties that have not been used as residential properties before. You can get the grant if you are refurbishing the vacant property so you can live there, or so you can rent the property out.

You can get a grant of up to €50,000 to renovate a vacant property and up to €70,000 if the property is derelict.

The Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant is funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage through the Croí Cónaithe (Towns) Fund and you apply to your local authority.

Insulation Grants:
There are four insulation grants available: 
1) Attic Insulation – A grant to the value of €1,300 is available for a Semi-Detached property.
2) Cavity Wall Insulation – A grant to the value of €1,200 is available for a Semi-Detached property.
3) Internal Insulation (Dry Lining) – A grant to the value of €3,500 is available for a Semi-Detached property.
4) External Wall Insulation (The Wrap) – A grant to the value of €6,000 is available for a Semi-Detached property.

All homeowners, including private landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2011 can apply. This is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed. 
These grants can be applied for on the SEAI’s (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) website, or by post.
